From my previous post, the 1st rehearsal didn't go that well, I could have done better. Then the 2nd rehearsal was way better than the 1st one, esp my comedy act because it was more Malaysian. The dance was better too.
Friday night [28/8/09] , 8.00pm, was the real night, where more than 350 people will be watching. I felt a bit nervous waiting for my turn as my performance was only at 10pm. When my turn came on, I felt normal. Before I performed, there was a small skit between me and the MC as an introduction to my performance. There were 2 MCs, one of them being my fellow old schoolmate, Shazwan. It also feels great when 2 old Frees are together making the event a success.
I started off with my comedy act and my god, the crowd was massive. They enjoyed every single joke and they were even chanting my name ' Gajen! Gajen! Gajen! '. I felt like some celebrity for a moment, maybe..Matt Damon? haha or maybe Michael Ballack after scoring from a freekick. LOL
Then, my 2nd performance was a Michael Jackson Dance. It went not bad. I was given only 8 minutes to perform, 4 minutes of comedy and 4 minutes of dance. After my whole performance, as I left the stage, the entire crowd were shouting my name again. Despite feeling tired, by just listening to the crowd, you tend to feel energetic again. Many people were telling me that I had a great chance of winning which didn't really matter to me because my main aim was to entertain the crowd and I did! =) Secondly, getting to the top 3 is awesome enough whatmore for getting second. Freaky Buggies won 1st with their hip-hop dance and Vanishing Act won 3rd with their band songs. Great performance guys!
I won RM 300, a trophy and a goodie bag from Follow Me. Planning to get Chelsea jersey soon. Haha. I will never forget that night. I would like to take this oppurtunity to congratulate all finalists of Monash Talent Night for the great performances, the committee for organizing such a grand event and the audience for your support. I really appreciate my friends who are mostly from engineering for their support because most of you all didn't have your voices after that night and I can clearly see why...haha.. Thanks guys!
