It all started off when 2 weeks prior to Alan's birthday, I sms-ed him..

me: hey whats your shoe size?

alan: 10 lor [haha he felt 'paiseh']

me: 10 uk or us [i asked this to make it sound real]

alan: not sure

me: ok then i think its uk

10 minutes later

alan:hey i think its us

me:ok noted

1 day before his birthday, I asked the same thing to reconfirm. Here's what I did. Ding Sheng and I went to a mall to buy him a Polo Tee. After we bought, Ding Sheng said I should wrap it. When i walked home, I saw an empty Nike shoe box. LIGHT BULB BLINKS!

I placed the Polo Tee in the shoe box and filled it with lots of newspaper to match the weight of a real shoe box. Then I sticked a small box of NikeRed laces on it to make it look even more real and eventually placed the whole box into a Nike plastic bag.

On his birthday, at E-gate Starbucks, he was quite happy to take out the shoe box from the plastic. Then, he opened the box in a very slow manner [like indiana jones opening a treasure], he opened it slowly because he was shocked to see crumpled newspapers inside haha. After that he dug out the Polo Tee. Disappointed at 1st but happy in the end because he really liked the Polo Tee [Milano brand], colour suits him and the size is just nice. Happy birthday Alan! lol

3 Weeks Left And Back To Uni!

November and December have been great as a lot of my friends were back and we spent a lot of time together. However, having a 3 months holiday is a bit too long. Penang is getting boring, I mean the island is small. lol. That's why they're reclaiming land like no one's business.

So far 2011 has been ok. My usual routine is hang out, eat, watch movie, play left for dead, play futsal/football, watch football, run errands and online lol. I recently allocated my timetable for this semester and i think it's not bad, my Friday is off!

Another big news is, there will be 2 or 3 new stand up comedies in the next few months. All new jokes, new materials. It has been 3/4 a year since i last did a stand up comedy. I've been already invited to a few events in the upcoming months but i'm not sure if i'll give the green light to all as i have limited material.

I'll be going to KL with family this Tuesday till Saturday which is during Chinese New Year. Hopefully, I get to meet some of my friends whom will be leaving for Aussie soon. That's all for now. Take care. Happy New Year in advance! =)

Malaysian Football Rises As The Malayan Tigers Roar!

Since birth, as a Malaysian, as a football fan, all I hear is Malaysia's best form was in the 70s when Soh Chin Aun was the captain and players like Mokhtar Dahari, Santokh Singh, Arumugam were in the team. However, after SEA Games 2009 and AFF Suzuki Cup 2010, Malaysia emerged as champions for both competitions and proved to be South East Asia's best Football Team!

It all started when Mr Rajagobal was appointed as the Malaysian Coach and he believed in youngsters. So he brought a lot of youngster from youth academy, Harimau Muda. Yes, I'm talking about players' aging around 19-24 years old. Best part of all, he understood each and every players strong and weak points and also their best positions. Put it this way, all these while Malaysia had these ingredients but just couldn't find the correct recipe until came 'Sir' Rajagobal!

5 years ago or even a decade, I couldn't even name a Malaysian player not because I dislike my country but our football matches are just unwatchable. Our passings, defence, attacking, teamwork, practically everything was hopeless. Back then, I felt sad and also pissed off because Malaysia has a very strong football culture, people here watch and play football for life. If you drive down the highway, you'll see kids playing football in the kampung[village] areas, if you drive down the city, you'll hardly see an empty futsal court. This is Malaysia.

I have tonnes of international friends from countries that play better football than us, coming up to me and said, 'I have never experience futsal before until I came here[Malaysia], people here are crazy about football, that's really good.'

Few weeks back, when Malaysia narrowly escaped the group stages of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 and managed to creep into the Semifinal to meet Vietnam, I said 'hey why not just watch the match'. I thought it was not bad beating Vietnam 2-0 at home and 0-0 away. Mind you, Vietnam is generally known for being the best in South East Asia.

The Finals of AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 was the match that made me support my country and totally changed my perspective on Malaysian Football. Malaysia beating Indonesia 3-0 at home! 3 goals in 12 minutes!

The score is one thing but the overall display was superb. Our passes are much sharper, attacking is way faster than before, defense is solid. Can I name a Malaysian player now? NO

Because I can name almost the whole team now, Fahmi, Norsharul, Safee, Kunanlan, Muslim, Sabre, Fadhli, Yahyah...Rise Malayan Tigers!

I would like to highlight Malaysian Goalkeeper, Fahmi. He's my age, 21 years old. His favourite club is Bayern Munich which is my favorite as well. His favorite player is Oliver Kahn! In my opinion, he is South East Asia's best Goalkeeper and maybe one of Asia's best keepers.

Is Proton Going In The Correct Direction?

Me being a car enthusiast, many of my friends were asking me this question and quite a number complained that Proton is moving backwards by rebadging the current Lancer into Inspira.

Most people's perspective on Proton right now is, 'They used to rebadge Mitsubishis in the past, in the year 2000, they made the Waja, our 1st Malaysian car and kept on going with cars like Savvy,Gen2,Saga,Exora,etc but now they've just rebadge the Lancer as the Inspira to replace the decade old Waja. Forward to backward'

So what is my opinion on this? Well, here it is...the long story...

1st of all, we must all ask what made Proton rebadge the current Lancer? Proton's answer was to fund their R&D [Research and Development] for their upcoming cars like the new Persona R [Proton Tuah] and so on. I wasn't surprised by that answer as Proton did overspend in making the Exora until there was an article where,even with Exora selling like hot cakes, it won't be able to cover their R&D fund.

Again, I wasn't surprise with that because the Exora is the most modern Proton in terms of technology. First of all, its the safest Proton and quite safe compared to its competitors like Alza, Innova, etc. Body structure is pretty good based on the crash test. It has a lot of safety features such as hazard lights warning under emergency braking, home light function, smart wipers [lots of features like wiper slows down when in traffic, effective wiping-washing (when washer is activated,wiper wipes 4 times then pauses for 5 seconds for the water to flow down,then wipes again), etc], all doors will unlock in an event of an accident, etc. By the way you do not get these features in its rivals. In fact, most of the features mentioned are normally found in European cars or high end Japanese cars.

Due to whatever I've said in the upper paragraph, they had to somehow generate income other than the Exora sales not just for the initial Exora R&D but also for their upcoming cars. In my opinion, they have concentrated too much on the car key, headlamps and wiper features in the Exora. They should have concentrated less on those and invest more on interior cabin quality and at the same time monitoring their Investment in R&D and approximate future sales while developing the Exora. Due to this, their upcoming cars might reuse the same platform as the Exora which is fine, if it is a new MPV. Let me explain why.

Estima and Odyssey have been long rivals. Estima is more for huge families and comfort. Odyssey is more to younger people and smaller families. Honda's marketing strategy is this, the Odyssey actually uses the same platform as the Accord. Honda says it gives the Odyssey the sedan-like driving style which in other words, despite being a MPV, it is still sporty to drive. Here in Proton, its the other way round, because there are rumors that the new Persona might use the Exora's platform, there's no right or wrong but its definitely tricky. By the way, from Paultan, there were spy shots of a disguised sportier looking Exora and I believe it has the same platform which is good because its a MPV, whatmore a sportier version but anyhow those are just spyshots.

So, after the Exora and Saga, it was heard that Proton will be having a new design language in the future, around 2012. The new design language will feature the new Persona R, Emas and maybe Perdana. We all saw the Proton Tuah during the KL Motorshow 2010. It's a whole new car and from my point of view, I think it looks great, sporty and muscular. Indirectly, their design language is quite promising. Its the same with the Proton Emas, which was a joint venture with Giugaro. It looks cute and sleek.

Has the question been answered? Not exactly, the Proton Tuah and Proton Emas maybe good looking and sporty but bare in mind that those are concepts. It is still early to say despite the good exterior because exterior designing has been much of a problem to Proton (Saga facelift is spot on, Satria Neo is the hottest hatchback in that price range,etc). Even engines aren't a problem, Proton's new CPS engines are stunning whatmore they have the turbo version now. The problem has always been cabin quality and design. Satria Neo looks great on the outside but the interior is terrible as it has too much of cheap plastics and the dashboard design is quite odd. I couldn't understand why Proton modeled Lotus for their interior design in the Neo/Gen2(those 3 vertical air con knobs, speedometer) because Lotus isn't famous for their comfort and interior design. I was even speechless when I saw the interior of the Gen 2 back in 2004, the dashboard buttons are like some puzzle and its very unpractical!

So whether Proton has moved forward by rebadging the lancer or not, can only be justified once we see the production models of their new design language like the Persona R and Emas. However, on the whole, I think Proton has done a great job in the Saga facelift [one of the best facelifts ever], Exora [worth the money and the size, the hybrid is also good] and the Satria Neo [CPS,R3 Lotus Racing and R3 concept]. Good luck to Proton in their upcoming models, make Malaysia proud!

Penang Bridge Marathon 2010

It has been weeks since the Penang Bridge Marathon 2010 ended but the burning spirit that was the catalyst during my run will never fade out. Before this, my furthest run was 10 km and before that was 1.5km. This time I ran 42.195km, yes a full marathon.

So thats my running record history, lol. Notice the jump from 1.5 to 10 and from 10 to 42.195. Here's how it happened in the beginning, I was talking to my housemate after I came back from my Nike Run 10 km. I was telling him that i felt quite satisfied finishing 10 km in 1hr 19min. He said it was nothing as he ran Penang Bridge Marathon completing within a given time and achieving a finishers medal. So I was like 'Hey if he can finish it, why not me? after all physically, he's similar to me.'

So I like a hero signed up for Penang Bridge 2010 full marathon, a whopping 42.195km. I was thinking 'hey if i can jump from 1.5km to 10 km, why not 10 to 42?' lol. Weeks later, I felt I made a mistake by signing up for 42.195km, so when I collected my running gear from the booth, I tried asking whether was it possible to change to half marathon because I happened to find out at that time that my housemate actually completed 21km which is half marathon. LOL

In the end, nothing can be changed and I had to run for 42km! I drank 100 plus and went to Queensbay Mall which was the starting point. Coincidentally I met my junior scouts from 8th Georgetown South, Penang Free School who were doing scouts duty there. Whistle blew and I ran!

1st part was not bad, I ran continuously for about 2km, then after that I walked-jogged-walked-jogged.

Route: Queensbay Mall - Seagate(Bayan Lepas) - Penang Bridge - Buterworth - Penang Bridge - Jetty - Queensbay Mall

Running on the Penang Bridge was as good as walking! Due to its stunning length, it feels like youre not moving at all and this was quite demoralizing. As I ran to Butterworth, its started raining heavily which was fine by me except that my shoes were wet [becomes heavy and harder to lift your legs due to puddle of waters everywhere]. Another bad thing was the water point stations, out of lets say 10 stations they had like 2 stations with 100 plus only.

When I was running back to Penang Island from Butterworth, almost completing the Penang Bridge, I felt pumped up as the biggest obstacle in the marathon was the bridge and i survived it! However, my spirit didn't last for long as when I reached Penang Island, I had to turn right and kept running [opposite direction of going to Queensbay Mall]. I was thinking 'this is so damn bloody demoralizing as I'm almost out of juice and now im running further away from the finishing point?'

I kept running and was asking where on earth is the U-turn, I ran past Gelugor, Island Glades, Jelutong and almost reaching the jetty, I see the turning point stating 33km mark (5hours spent out of 7 hours time limit). After that I sat down for 10minutes as my muscles were all strained,stamina wasn't the problem,muscles were. After that, I couldn't jog at all and only had to walk all the way back to Queensbay Mall.

I finished the marathon in 7 hours and 7 seconds to be precise. I was quite proud as I thought i would break down halfway and I mean trust me, 42km is way longer than you think it is. I got the finishers t-shirt, medal and trophy. I couldn't really walk after that, my calves and thighs were GONE. Took me 4-5 full days to fully recover. What an experience!

Farewell To My Beloved Nike Tiempo Football Boots

It was my first football footwear. I bought it back in early 2008 when i started playing futsal regularly. Nike Tiempo at RM 189. At that time, I was really excited as it was my 1st pair of boots. Sadly after 3 years, the sole gave way. The stitches and glue came out on the right boot whereas on the left boot, small part of the sole tore. It happen yesterday when I was playing football with christopher, dominic and paul in Penang Free School Field. Therefore, I threw the boots there itself after serving me for about 3 years. Well, time to get a new pair! Adidas or Nike? hmmm...

My 21st Birthday

21st birthday has always been something special. A transition from teenage life to adulthood. To me, age is just a number. Well, I didn't celebrate much as most of my relatives are in KL and Singapore. It's the same with friends where most of them are outstation or overseas. So i celebrated with my family and as usual present given was money lol.

So i bought myself a pair of running shoes, Nike Free Run! The whole point of Nike Free Run is lightness, comfort and its designed in such a way where you feel like you're running bare-footed, only in a comfortable manner. That's why it's called Nike FREE RUN (i got this information from the Nike Trainers when they came to my Uni.).

Other than the shoes, i also bought the Nike Sportband ver 2.0 which comes with the sportband and the Nike+ sensor. Basically you place the sensor in your Nike+ shoes, start your Nike sportband and start running, the sportband will read and record your pace,distance,time,calories burnt and so on. Then, by just detaching the sportband's USB and plugging it into your computer, all the data will be displayed in NikePlus website. I shall talk about this more in detail in my upcoming post. I just came back yesterday from KL. Glad exams are over, 2 papers went well, 2 didn't. However, here comes the 3 months break! I've got to make this more productive than last year's 3 months break. Nike Run 2010 'We Run KL' !

10 km in 1 hour 19 minutes was the time recorded. Well, I thought it was not bad as the last time I ran more than 1 km was 5 years back and that was only 1.5km. I had to go to Uni at 5 am because the bus left at 530am. We reached there around 615 am, there were around 30 of us from Monash but around 2000 people participated the run.

It was a whole new experience as I've never ran a marathon or an official run like that. I actually signed up for 5 km but on the day itself, I happen to find out that Monash signed in for 10km for all. So I was like ok, that's double. However, turned out to be fine because surprisingly I found 5km kind of short. 10 km was just nice.

Great to see old, young, local, foreign, etc people running. I mean I especially respect the adults who participated the run, sacrificing their sundays for this event or should I say exercise. It's quite cool running on closed highways where cars will normally travel at 80km/h. You get a sense of freedom and inspired to run even more.

Bad thing was I wore my futsal shoes to run because those are my only sports shoes. Bad because futsal shoes have a flat sole and I have a neutral sole [normal arch]. I'm planning to get a pair of running shoes soon, maybe end of this year, aiming for lunarglide!

Time really flies and the mid sem break wasn't really a break. I didn't even know why i came back to Penang as i wasted most of the time watching football and loitering around.Well, at least i celebrated my younger brother's birthday. It was really cool as the birthday took place in TGI Friday. Surprisingly, I met my old Primary and Secondary schoolmate working part time in TGI Friday. I like Engineering but i hate reports and assignments. Time consuming and virtually useless.

My Favorite Series - The Office

For those who know me well, I'm not exactly a fan of series. I mean when I 1st watched Lost I got so excited, after a couple of episodes, I myself lost track and didn't have that interest anymore. When I 1st watched 'how I met your mother' I found it quite interesting but after a couple of episodes, I thought it was quite lame. I told myself, 'Maybe series is not my cup of coffee.'

Then, I saw my roommate watching Office and Steve Carell was acting. I was like,'hey how bad can this series be? I mean its steve carell!' My favorite actor-comedians have always been steve carell, will ferrell, jack black, ben stiller, etc. So I decided to give it a try and guess what, Bull's Eye!

The Office is probably the funniest show I've ever watched. In fact, I finished 6 seasons in 1-2 months? The acting, the jokes, the humor are all so natural and its really like a real office. Season 7 starts this week and I certainly can't wait. However, there's some bad news. Steve Carell will not be acting after season 7, meaning this upcoming season 7 is his last one and that's really sad. I mainly like 'The Office' due to 2 characters Michael Scott and Dwight Schrut. I hope Steve Carell decides to change his mind and just extend his contract.

Monash Talent Night 2010

It has been a year since Monash Talent Night 2009 (click to read Talent Night 09 Post), it was the event where my university 'recognized' me as Monash's 'comedian' or 'michael jackson' haha. This also clearly depicts how fast time flies, I mean Talent Night 09 felt like only months ago.

So this time, I attended Monash Talent Night 2010 as part of the audience instead of a participant. Why? Well there are a few reasons. Firstly, I thought of giving myself a break. Secondly, I didn't have much new comedy material. Lastly, I was kind of busy.

Overall this year's Talent Night wasn't as good as 2009 in terms of how grand the event was, the MCs, the decoration, participants' performance and so on. This time, the talent night only consisted of singing and dancing which are very common and easily expected by the audience. The MCs were a bit weird in the beginning as they were kind of lame.

Eg. male mc 'so what is your[referring to female mc] talent? hmm ill be guessing talking a lot is your talent'

female mc 'ok fine what is your talent then?'

male mc replies ' my talent is....i am able to count from 1 to 10!...without using my fingerss...'

[silence from the audience]

Although it was a cold start for the MCs, later on they did eventually entertained the audience. Another thing is the hall was kind of warm too. Judges' decisions weren't exactly reasonable. I mean there were 2 girls [third placing] who did some clubbing dance [exposed quite a lot] which me and my friends didn't find special but probably won the judges' hearts as all of them were guys. Hahaha

In a nutshell, the performances were not bad. Finally, I want to congratulate the top 3 winners and the rest of the participants!

Yes it's my first time going for a concert. Technically, I have no particular favourite band or group or singer, generally i like linkin park, j.lo, j.t, madonna, red hot chillie pepper, armin van buuren, above and beyond...etc lol. My friends told me to come as they could get the tickets cheap or maybe free or something like that. So since i haven't been to a concert, why not give it a try?

It was not bad, they had BunkFace [Malaysian Rock Band], Wonder Girls [Korean], Tokio Hotel [German] and Katty Perry [American of course]. I'm not a fan of any of them. Anyway lets start off with BunkFace. Honestly they're quite good. I seem them going far if they keep up their standards. Wonder Girls were not bad either..i mean the name says it all haha. Tokio Hotel songs are definitely not my type but i enjoyed because they had the entertainment factor and the style. It was a blast! Katty Perry did a good ending to the show.

The funny part was, at the end they let off these huge balloons [around 6 m diameter] on the crowd. Came to a point where the ball went towards the stage and katty perry ran off and the security ran in to punch the ball away haha..

Inception Gets My Rating Of 9.4/10

Inception is easily the best movie of the year 2010 and in my opinion, the best movie of the decade. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight was a super big hit and now it's even better with Inception. The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is breathtaking, as good as he did Dark Knight. Last but not least, Leonardo Di Caprio nails it again...I mean Shutter Island was very good as well but not as good as Inception..

When I watched Greenzone and Invictus, I thought Matt Damon flushed the other actors back to dinosaur age but comes a rival, DiCaprio with Shutter Island and Inception. No doubt, Matt Damon and DiCaprio are the best 2 actors now and for the last decade.

The Moment Of Truth, the Bourne Series was the one that made me passionate about movies and made me a fan of Matt Damon. Bourne Ultimatum has always been my favourite movie since 2007, infact even after watching Dark Knight, i confidently said both are good but i prefer Bourne. However, Inception is a whole new level, something we have never seen before. It took me awhile to ask myself which is better Bourne or Inception?

Final Verdict Of My Favourite Movies Of All Time: Bourne Ultimatum VS Inception

Similarities: Fast pace, requires intelligent thinking, superb acting, mind blowing soundtrack

Differences: I've watched The Bourne Series around 5 times and still not bored, I've watched Inception twice [The 2nd time wasn't as fun as the 1st, main reason is there's too much suspense in the movie which is a blast for 1st timers but not more]; Bourne is about an agent who suffers from amnesia and tries to find his original path; Inception is about dreams within dreams, so i guess Inception's storyline is the one that stands out.

How To Build An Ironman Head Model

I built an Ironman model for Monash Science Club last semester for roadshow day and today I'm going to show you how to build one!

1. You need cardboard, scissors, gluegun, red and gold glossy paper, glue and pen knife.

2. Sketch Ironman's man head piece which lies in the middle of the face onto the cardboard. [As you're drawing you've got to give some tolerance to the dimensions as you're going to build it in 3D]

3. Sketch the other parts as well [Picture shown]

4. Place the cardboard pieces on the back of the glossy paper and sketch them. Be careful of the colors because some parts of the head is red and some in gold. remember to label the sketches on the glossy paper as left and right parts of the face can be confusing.

5. Bend the main part of the face to form a curvature. [As you're doing, try to visualize in 3D, have an ironman wallpaper or picture in front of you all the time to ease your work]

6. Slowly glue the parts all together and then stick the glossy papers.

Maths exam was crazily difficult...whatmore most of us thought that 3 hours weren't sufficient....another 2 weeks of stressfulness...exam fever...not to forget tomorrow is world cup opening match south africa vs mexico...very tempting but in engineering, you can take things for granted...maths was painful...time to look forward!

Ballack Out Of World Cup 2010

Thanks to Boateng [Portsmouth] tackling Ballack in the FA Cup Final, Ballack's ankle injury requires at least 8 weeks to recover. Due to that, Ballack won't be playing his last World Cup. It's really sad when a legend like Ballack ends his World Cup career like that.

Ballack plays very different for Germany compared to Chelsea. In Chelsea he scores 6 goals perseason but for Germany he has scored 42 goals in 98 caps. His international statistics are better than Beckham, Zidane, Figo, Ronaldhino and so on. If it wasn't for Ballack, I wouldn't have supported Chelsea.

I got into football when i started watching World Cup 2006 and i started supporting Germany after watching the 1st world cup 2006 match, Germany VS Costa Rica = 4-2. I'll never forget that match as that was the match that brought me into football. I was amazed by the German team and Ballack's leadership as a captain. When Ballack went to Chelsea in 2006 on a free transfer, that's when i supported Chelsea.

Months later, I realized i should have paid attention to football in 2002 which was Ballack's prime time. He scored 3 goals in world cup 2002, he was UEFA midfielder of the year with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich bought him for 12.5 million in 02. In Bayern Munich, he used to score 15 goals on average perseason.

He became Germany's Captain in 2004. He led Germany to 3rd placing in World Cup 2006, 2nd placing in Euro 2008 and I was expecting him to lead Germany to Champions this World Cup 2010. Knowing that he won't be able to play is just sad....Ballack hope you recover fast....

3. Quite sad that Ballack might be leaving Chelsea this summer. I started supporting Chelsea eversince he got transferred to Chelsea after World Cup 2006.

5. Exactly 1 month to Final Exam.

6. Monash Futsal League just ended last week. Our team didn't even win or draw one match. There were 11 matches all together. Still glad that we qualified initially for this league. It was a good experience, shall practise more.

What Are Driving Manners? Especially In A Place Like Penang

If you've been to Singapore, then I'm sure you know what am I talking about. I was in Singapore for 1 solid week last 2 years. I just respect their road manners. I mean when you are standing by the side of the road wanting to cross, cars will stop for you. No honking, No sign languages, No foul words, Basically nothing! Because it is already in their culture.

That is the thing that is missing in our Malaysian roads, proper road manners. A good example will be undoubtedly Penang, without any question. People here hardly give way when you put your signal to switch lanes, most people are blind when there's a huge yellow box right underneath their vehicles, some park illegally for the sake of their convenience, most will hardly stop for you when you're waiting at a junction wanting to turn out, some bikes still use the underpass when it's illegal for bikes..and it goes on and on...

Parents and media play very important roles in educating children/people when it comes to driving manners. How you do anything is how you do everything. Some people tend to drive fast and arrogantly just because they've got a BMW or a Merc or whatever expensive car which is plainly ridiculous. How weak of a mind do you need to have to change your driving style from humble to arrogant just because of your posh expensive car. Clearly shows how weak you are.

Another reason is some of us aren't disciplined enough to follow simple rules. Keep a car or two distance between you and the front car? Note the speed limits and yellow boxes, etc? and so on.

For those who have been staying in Penang or Malaysia for very long, have you noticed the number of cars are getting more and more as time passes by. Why? It's very simple.

1.More and more are coming out with degrees,therefore more can afford.

2.Bank are giving out lots of car loans.

3.People here hardly carpool [reduce traffic, save petrol, reduce carpark usage, better bonding between friends/family lol]

3.Despite being a liability, a car is a must have in today's life.

4.Underperforming public transportation system.

When people are successful, you should be jealous and give excuses why they're successful and so on. Look at the bright side and learn from them and this requires a lot of humbleness. I don't see anything wrong learning from our neighbouring country, Singapore.

April, 2007 - I got my first camera handphone, SE K800i as a gift after my SPM results were out. It was certainly a huge jump from my old Nokia phone which didn't have camera or even bluetooth. Whatmore it was the Casino Royale version, titanium silver. I really loved that phone, great camera, long battery life and a handsome design.

January 2010 - I got my first touch screen handphone, SE Satio which is the world's best camera handphone at the moment. 12.1 megapixels camera! I believe I'll be using this hp for at least 3 years just like my k800i. It's a brilliant phone.

Bayern Munich Fan Catalogue 09/10 Eventually Arrived!

Yesterday, my dad told me there was something for me on the table. I got shocked when i saw it because it was a Bayern Munich Fan Catalogue which I ordered like 4 months ago through their website [ click to view Bayern Munich Website ]. The reason why i ordered is because there were giving away the catalogue for free online. The best part is while i was typing my address, under the list of countries, Malaysia wasn't listed !! So i entered Singapore instead but typed Malaysia under 'state'. And it eventually came all the way from Munich!

In the catalogue, there are tonnes of Bayern products [jerseys,shirts,t-shirts,polo tee,jacket,socks,ball,towel,key chain,bikini? lol,teddy bear,watch,mugs,etc etc etc]. Too many to list down haha. Here are some pictures~! enjoy...

Frasers Hill Family Outing

I had such a great time in Frasers Hill last 2 weeks. My relatives from KL,Singapore and my family went to Frasers Hill as it was a family reunion after quite a long time. We left on Friday morning and reached there about 12pm. It's quite nice driving up to Frasers Hill...the winding roads...the breeze...in fact i saw a fleet of Audi A4s coming downhill,there were 3 of them and one of it was a RS4...perfect car in the correct place!

The weather was unexpectedly very cold. Guess what was the temperature? 16 degrees Celcius. That is colder than Cameron Highlands for some reason. Furthermore, in and out it was raining. Adding to that, the apartment was rubbish, badly maintained, an army of ants on the sofa set, no heater, kitchen looks asthough it has undergone 2012...

Sounds bad but nope, on the whole, it was a fun trip, we had a family telematch, celebrated my aunty's birthday, hiking, indoor games, boat ride and whatmore 5 meals perday [breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper]. I'm also happy that i got to meet some of my relatives that i haven't met in a long time. For example, the last time i saw my niece was 2 years back. Back then, she was shy,hardly spoke and so on. Now she's 8 and my god, she's so cheerful, talks a lot and she laughs for at least 5 seconds after saying anything. HAHA. It also nice to see old aunties and uncles on holiday where they can meet relatives which they hardly met,which puts a smile on their faces. =)

A little reminder though, Frasers Hill is not a place to have fun. It's a place for you to relax, admire the beauty of nature, to feel the cooling weather, etc..There are activities to do there such as boat paddling [there's a lake on the hill], hiking of course, horse riding, BBQ, jogging, etc..

Penang Tour Guide For A Couple Of Days

Last week was definitely a busy week for me as 8 of my friends where 7 of them are international students, came down to Penang for a couple of days. Me, Siva, Shang, Lian Geng and Beng Siang were obviously in charge of bringing them around the 'pearl of the orient'.

1st day, at 12pm, we picked them up from Queensbay [Aeroline Bus Station]. We [Penang people] took 15 miutes to decide where to bring them to eat, lol. At last, we took them to e-gate, Noodles Station. We didn't want to bring them to a Penang hawker place as we thought it was too early to eat typical Penang food. Furthermore, who doesn't like e-gate? the scenary...the highway...the nice breeze...

Then, we drove them straight to Leisure Cove Apartments. I'm not sure about the other cars but the ones who were in my car had non stop explaination about Penang and each place we passed by, haha. I was lost in Batu Feringghi as I forgotten where Leisure Cove is. Me and Antony [friend who's in my car] went around batu feringghi 2-3 times while listening to Jurassic Park theme song LOL. At last, with Siva coming to guide us, we manage to find Leisure Cove.[no sign boards indicating where leisure cove is...haih]

Night, we brought them to Ananda Bahwan for dinner. They all enjoyed the food and liked the environment. After that, I went home whereas my other Penang friends brought them to the Batu Ferringhi 'pasar malam'.

2nd day, lunch at HARD ROCK CAFE PENANG!! I had my lunch before going, so I only drank coffee there. Here's the interesting part, I'm a Coffee Lover, as I was reading the menu, I saw Bailey's Coffee [looked so nice with the whipped cream]. Therefore, I ordered. Took a sip. The taste sucks!! I was like so confused because I've never came across a coffee like that. I tasted achocol in it which is weird and later found out that, that is why it is called Bailey's Coffee [coffee+alcohol]. Bye bye RM 30....nvm nvm, it was my 1st time...=P

I thought Hard Rock Cafe & Hotel Penang was awesome. I like the everything about it except the price obviously. Evening, we went for Paintball ! Not that awesome as the terrain was just a field with some balloon/air bags or whatever you call it. Then, we picked up 2 more friends at Queensbay and had dinner in Oldtown Sunshine. After that we went to my house to celebrate Dinesh and my birthday. We had cake and watched 'meet the spartans' lol.

3rd day, we had lunch at Siva's place. Food was good. Then, we had to send 2 of our friends [Antony and Tharindu] to the bus station. It's really sad because I wish they stayed longer and they also wished the same. They really enjoyed Penang and thanked us for our help in bringing them around. That night, we had dinner in Gurney Drive hawker place. We ate Kuey Teow, Wan Than Mee, Sting Ray, etc. As expected, they said the food was delicious.

Next day, we went to Bangkok lane to eat 'mee rebus'. As usual, they loved it! Then we had to send 3 of them to the bus station and the following day, the rest went back. On the last day when i went to the bus station, they gave me a present for my birthday. I knew it was a ball cos it was wrapped directly on the ball lol. When i opened it at home, it was a Chelsea Ball with a Chelsea Cap!! Wasn't expecting that....Thanks guys!

Overall, I hope you guys enjoyed Penang. I also realized that Penang is a very beautiful place after being your 'Tour Guide' lol [except for the traffic during factory hours!]

My 20th Birthday

9 of my friends [mostly international] and a few penang friends, who were all from my uni, came to my house to celebrate my 20th birthday.I really had a great time with them. We 1st went to Sunshine Oldtown to have dinner then I guided them to my house to celebrate Dinesh's and my birthday. Thanks for coming and thank you so much for the birthday present!!

EXAMS !!

I doubt I'll be updating until my exams are over. I have PSA [Process System Analysis] this Friday, Electricals the following Monday, Structures 2 days later and Computing 2 days later which is on the 13th of November. I'll be going back to Penang on the 15th of November for 3 and a half months!! Seriously can't wait but for now, exams first. Take care.

Chelsea VS Atletico Madrid

Chelsea recently lost to Aston Villa 2-1. In my opinion, Chelsea did not perform well despite the 68% dominance. There's no one to support Drogba and Anelka. Lampard seems shaky with ancelotti's formation. I don't see much leadership from him and he has only scored one goal so far and even that is from a penalty. Due to this, Manchester United took an easy lead by 1 point.

I feel that Chelsea plays better when Ballack is playing. Despite being injured, he has already scored 3 goals being Chelsea 2nd top scorer together with Anelka. A good example will be Chelsea-Liverpool, Ballack's leadership was stunning. Chelsea was so offensive during that game. Ballack will be returning to the squad tomorrow to play against Atletico Madrid. Chelsea better win this one!

I just went for the Monash Ball 2009 last Friday in Sunway Hotel.It was 80 bucks instead of 100 cos we paid early. However, i thought it wasn't worth the money especially the food. Haha, i only liked the dessert. The one that surprised me were the finalists of Mr. and Ms. Monash...none of them did well during the question and answer session. I liked the video presentation and the hall decoration of the event. Overall, the event was just ok.

1. Mid sem tests were over last 2 weeks. It went ok I guess.

2. Mauloda scored the winning goal on the 90+3rd minute that made it 1-2. Chelsea is no 1 in EPL and havent lost or even drew any game.

3. I'm so happy that Bayern bought Robben from Real Madrid. Robben scoring 2 goals on his 1st debut as a half time substitute against Wolfsburg, the German Champs, is simply amazing. The tag team between him and Ribery is just AWESOME!

4. Lately, I made it an attempt to practise football everyweek specifically on running [improve my stamina] , passes and freekicks. I'm also teaching my international friend football every weekend. LOL.

5. I'm slowly trying to revise the whole MATLAB topics again. Regret not practising from the beginning.

From my previous post, the 1st rehearsal didn't go that well, I could have done better. Then the 2nd rehearsal was way better than the 1st one, esp my comedy act because it was more Malaysian. The dance was better too.

Friday night [28/8/09] , 8.00pm, was the real night, where more than 350 people will be watching. I felt a bit nervous waiting for my turn as my performance was only at 10pm. When my turn came on, I felt normal. Before I performed, there was a small skit between me and the MC as an introduction to my performance. There were 2 MCs, one of them being my fellow old schoolmate, Shazwan. It also feels great when 2 old Frees are together making the event a success.

I started off with my comedy act and my god, the crowd was massive. They enjoyed every single joke and they were even chanting my name ' Gajen! Gajen! Gajen! '. I felt like some celebrity for a moment, maybe..Matt Damon? haha or maybe Michael Ballack after scoring from a freekick. LOL

Then, my 2nd performance was a Michael Jackson Dance. It went not bad. I was given only 8 minutes to perform, 4 minutes of comedy and 4 minutes of dance. After my whole performance, as I left the stage, the entire crowd were shouting my name again. Despite feeling tired, by just listening to the crowd, you tend to feel energetic again. Many people were telling me that I had a great chance of winning which didn't really matter to me because my main aim was to entertain the crowd and I did! =) Secondly, getting to the top 3 is awesome enough whatmore for getting second. Freaky Buggies won 1st with their hip-hop dance and Vanishing Act won 3rd with their band songs. Great performance guys!

I won RM 300, a trophy and a goodie bag from Follow Me. Planning to get Chelsea jersey soon. Haha. I will never forget that night. I would like to take this oppurtunity to congratulate all finalists of Monash Talent Night for the great performances, the committee for organizing such a grand event and the audience for your support. I really appreciate my friends who are mostly from engineering for their support because most of you all didn't have your voices after that night and I can clearly see why...haha.. Thanks guys!

Monash Talent Night Rehearsal 1

It was Monash Talent Night rehearsal yesterday. The comedian act and dancing were ok-ok only. The comedy part wasn't that good as the crowd was quiet most of the time, mainly because of 2 reasons. Firstly, the crowd was small, about 20 people [judges and committee] and secondly, I was kind of draggy, should have kept it simple and short.

Then the dance, my friends said the dance was good but believe it or not, I actually forgot 2 minutes of the dance. My dance is 5 minutes which means I forgot 40%. However I covered it up with some other MJ moves. Thank god when I covered it up with other moves, it went smoothly as though it was part of the plan. However, it's still a bad sign for me, just lack of practise because i practised the dance like 2 days before the rehearsal. Before that, I was planning it which is a little difficult because this is not a normal dance, it's a Michael Jackson dance, every move has to be MJ.

I've danced infront a huge crowd many many times. Started from standard 6, when I danced and sang N'snyc's Dirty Pop in front of 200 people. Then, during my time in scouts, I used to dance for campfire. So dancing shouldn't be a problem.

The thing is, this is my first time being a stand up comedian. A lot of factors will kick in. Like what type of crowd? Will they enjoy your jokes? etc etc....Got to replan and shorten the comedy act and practise the dance...Rehearsal 2 is this coming Thursday...

*It was held in Auditorium 2 which has carpet floor. Moonwalk and side moonwalk didn't quite work yesterday. It only the floor is cement or tiles...lol

Couple of weeks back when it was still the 1st week of semester, I joined the Monash Talent Night Audition. I thought of dancing at 1st but then again a lot of others will surely dance. It's the same story with singing. So why not do something different?

So I went there as a comedian!

At 1st, I was quite nervous because there were only 3 judges and a couple of other people, all I'm saying is the crowd was small and that's a disadvantage to a comedian. If I'm going to make people laugh, the crowd has to be big then it will be fun but then again, it's audition, can't expect a big crowd.

So I told them some jokes based on my daily life and did some impersonations. Suprisingly, their remarks were really good. Then they asked me what else could I do and I said, in the beginning I actually thought of dancing Michael Jackson. So they played Billie Jean and asked me to dance spontaneously. After that, they asked me to do that as well if I were to get through to the finals.

Last week, they called and said I am in the finals! Out of maybe 40+ contestants, to be in the final 9 is really great.

No Notebook For A Week

Last Friday I sent my notebook [ Compaq Presario CQ40 ] for repair to HP Service Centre as the scanned lines on my screen were really bad. They told that it would take 3 working days which means I should get it by Wednesday which is today. However when I called them this morning, I was told that they didn't have the component for the LCD screen which means it will take a week more.

1st Big Question...Isn't scanned lines on notebook screen a common problem? Even one of my friends who recently bought a Dell Inspiron is now having the same problem with me. You don't have to be a computer genius to know that scanned lines are common, they should have the components ready in hand.

2nd Big Question...If scanned lines wasn't a common problem, they should at least told in the beginning. Furthermore if this problem takes a week to be solved, what problems can be solved in 3 workings days?

I'm writting this from my uni library. I miss my Notebook although I don't love it. LOL.

2nd Semester

At last I could log in this page and update my blog. As usual, the line here is freaking slow. So today is my 2nd day of the 2nd sem. Yesterday I already met 3 out of 4 of my lecturers and later I'll get to meet the other. So far all the lecturers seem ok but it's still difficult to say because they haven't started teaching yet as yesterday was just the introduction.

It feels great to be back in uni although the holidays felt like a week rather than 3 weeks. Can't wait for the end of this sem as there will be 3 months holidays. =)

Start Of A New Semester

Time really flies...just after 2 weeks, I'm heading back to KL. My uni sem 2 starts the following week and my sem 1 results will be out next weekend. I'll be going back to KL tomorrow 9am together with Liang Wu. Lol. I'll miss penang again....that's all for now. Take care everyone!

Michael Jackson - The King Of Pop

Michael Jackson was and still is many people's role model when it comes to singing and dancing. There's no doubt about that. Being in the Jacksons at a very young age was already awesome enough. Whatmore going single in the 70s and the peak time of the 80s and early 90s....

I still have his VCR tape which is maybe 15 years old? Till today his songs are awesome and despite the timeline that most of his songs were in the 80s, they still sound modern to me. You just get a sense that his songs will never age unlike others. Beat it, Thriller, Billie Jean, Dangerous, Bad...stunning...

If you think his songs are great, then I'll say his dances are motherfreaking superb. Obviously the first word that comes in your mind is 'moonwalk'. Yeah...he's the master. When you watch his concert, you'll see that the background dancers can never dance as natural as him.

Of course, there are lots of bad remarks about MJ as well. For example, he bleaching his skin, undergoing plastic sugery, molesting kids and so on. However, he has gone now, lets take the good and leave the bad. Lets BEAT IT!

End Of Semester 1

I'm glad my exams are over. My last paper was Physics last thursday. I went ok I guess. Now I'm in Penang! Happy to be back, Liang Wu is back as well after almost a year. However, Quite a number of my friends recently left like Swie Oon to MMU Melaka, Christopher to Labuan, etc.

So 4 months have passed and I'll be starting my next sem in a month. Time really flies. Honestly, despite the amount of assignments, tutorials, reports and projects I had to do, I really enjoyed university life. Since I joined the buddy-buddee program where I had a mentor for the 1st sem, the upcoming 2nd sem I'll be the mentor instead. Cool! lol

I also felt very sad when Ding Sheng sms-ed me 6 am in the morning last Friday stating that Michael Jackson passed away. I was awake at that time because my bus back to Penang was at 8 am. That's all for now. I'll update more soon. Take care!

1. Exams are freaking near. Just 6 days left.

2. Will be going back on the 26th of June until 13th of July.

3. Hopes Ancellotti [ Chelsea's new coach ] brings success for Chelsea especially in EPL and Champions League.

4. I really like Chelsea's and Bayern Munich's new jerseys.

5. New Jaguar XJ will be out next week!

6. Haven't exercised for a month. Tummy getting slightly flabby. Haha

7. Just realized that the last time I made a movie was one and a half years ago. LOL. Maybe this end of the year then, during my 3 month break. =)

Chelsea FA Cup 2009 Winner !

Chelsea won Everton 2-1. A tremendous comeback after Everton scored the 1st goal at the very 1st few seconds of the game. 2 awesome goals from Drogba and Lampard. Lampard's goal was superb, changed direction to confuse the opponent, slipped and fell, yet got back and shot the ball with his left foot. I'll be missing Guss Hiddink, a great coach. Sadly he'll be returning to Russia as there will be World Cup 2010 qualifiers matches. Bye Bye Guus!!

Physics Project 1

Well, as I did mention earlier, I'll write a post on my univeristy physics projects. The 1st project was to build a vehicle that has no rotating parts and able to hold/carry an egg. The movement of the vehicle shall only be power by one rubber band [ catapult ]. The furthest vehicle will get the highest mark in condition the egg doesn't break.

Sounds fun right? Yea it was. However, you have to be prepared to spend a little money as constructing a couple of prototype vehicles would be necessary. By testing them, you'll know which is best. So, we did like 8 prototypes which is a lot. One was ping pong balls, one was thumbtacks, another was marbles and so on. We finally chose the marble one as it was the most slippery. The chassis of the vehicle was a CD which is good as it is light and rigid. The only issue was the weight of the marbles. Marbles may be slippery but they're heavy as well.
.The group that went the furthest

So, we're suppose to power the vehicle by 'shooting' it using a catapult that is made out of rubber band. Last year's record was 10 meters. My group went 9.97 meters which was not bad. However the furthest group went 14 meters which is a new record! They used pebbles which were lighter than marbles.

Screen Problem!

Last month, one greenish blue line appeared on the lowest part of the screen. It even blinks like every 2 seconds. At first I thought it was virus as my norton anti-virus expired. Then later on, I happen top find out that its the screen problem. Now there are 3 scanned lines. Will get it repaired once the semester is over. LOL maybe it's swine flu haha.

4. I hope Bayern Munich wins the Bundesliga. It's a very very close call at the moment. The upcoming match is the deciding factor.
